There is no sign of a full stop to the unending bloodshed in Middle East as US and Israel have once again launched strikes against Iran.

The supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei who was leading his country for over three decades, was the target. The elderly leader was killed and the strikes have now plunged the entire region into a war zone.

Iran has vowed to retaliate and after the assassination, it struck at the US bases in all the countries in West Asia. Missiles landed in Israel as well as in UAE, Qatar and other countries, leading to panic and fear of an expanding conflict that could affect other countries of Middle East as well.

Clearly, the region is again in the midst of a serious crisis and the escalation could have major affect on the economy as well as trade and safety of public lives in the Arab world.

This is a strange situation as US president Trump had vowed to stop such misadventures of US, because the American public was seemingly tired of the country going to wars in faraway nations.

In his victory speech, Donald Trump had clearly said that he was against wars. When he gave his election night victory speech, Trump promised that he would not start a new war. In fact, he had told his supporters that he would stop wars.

However, America is starting a new war despite apprehensions that it could drag for long and it may not be in the American interests to fight another war with a country that has a history of resisting sanctions and has been able to sustain the military conflicts for years.

Iran has fought a long war with Iraq in the past. After the Islamic revolution, the country has faced sanctions but against all odds, the regime survived and the country has emerged stronger.

In such a situation, the fresh attack, has come as a surprise.  Experts say that Netanyahu was hoping to get America launch the attack on Iran, as it helps him, in Israel’s politics.

But, does it help America? That the regime may survive even after Khamenei, is a possibility and the Iranian populace might unite as they see it as arrogance of the West i.e. US that has been constantly focusing on the regime change.

That Dubai, Doha and other major urban centres of the Gulf that have been struck by Iran, suggests that t he war could be messy and it will affect the global trade.

US is aware that its bases, assets and interests in Middle East would be targeted, apart from the potential loss of lives of American soldiers in this conflict.

The conflict in Palestine has not been resolved. Gaza suffered terribly and witnessed  huge destruction and deaths. Now was the time for peace and healing, but another war has been thrust on the region.
